Matt Smith, who you might know for his work in Doctor Who, The Crown, and the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX movie, will be joining Jared Leto in Sony’s adaptation of Morbius. It isn’t clear yet what role the actor will play. This story focuses on Marvel character Dr. Michael Morbius (who Leto will play in the movie), a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself—but somehow ended up becoming a vampire. His character is part of Sony’s universe of Marvel-licensed characters, that’s why it’ll be a Sony production. Scandinavian filmmaker Daniel Espinosa will direct the film. It’s screenplay was written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, and will be produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Lucas Foster.

Latest iOS beta hints at ‘AirPods 2’ getting ‘Hey Siri’ support

A strange quirk of the existing Apple AirPods is you can’t go “Hey Siri” and have the earbuds respond to you immediately. You’ll need to double-tap on them first. But that might change in the rumoured next iteration. 9to5Mac’s Guilherme Rambo discovered a prompt in the just-released iOS 12.2 beta that reads, “Talk to Siri with your AirPods or iPhone by saying ‘Hey Siri.’” And since that feature isn’t available with the current AirPods, it’s assumed that the next-gen version of the AirPods might be getting this feature. With iOS 12.2 coming out to the public later this year, it’s being suggested the “AirPods 2” might be ready for a launch soon.

Chrome will soon get support for hardware media keys on Windows

Chrome on Windows is getting a feature Edge doesn’t currently support: the use of its hardware media keys. Google Chrome Engineer Becca Hughes announced on chromium.org that Chrome 73 will be adding support for Media Session API in Windows and Chrome OS. In theory, this means you can control sites like YouTube using the hardware keys available on some keyboards as well as possibly Windows 10 pop-up media bar. This feature isn’t currently available to Edge, but Microsoft’s browser should get it too once it switches its rendering engine to Chromium.
