Apple announces blockbuster holiday week with $1.22 billion in sales

Apple announced a record-breaking holiday sales week and New Year's Day with a huge $1.22 billion in sales spent in apps and games. 

"The holiday week was our biggest week ever with more than $1.22 billion spent on apps and games, and New Year’s Day set a new single-day record at more than $322 million,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Thanks to the inspiring work of our talented developers and the support of our incredible customers around the world."

Apple says services set new all-time records in multiple categories, including the App Store, Apple Music, Cloud Services, Apple Pay and the App Store’s search ad business. Huge earners in the app department includemultiplayer games like Fortnite and PUBG as well as productivity, health and fitness apps. "1Password, Sweat and Luminosity charting in their respective categories," Apple reported.

Netflix to bring back ‘The Punisher’ on January 18th

Following the release of a cryptic teaser a couple of days ago, Netflix announced the release date of The Punisher’s second season. The Marvel show will be coming back to the streaming service on January 18th. We get to venture into Frank Castle’s story one more time. To tide you over before the show’s release, take a peek at the teaser trailer above. The Punisher is one of the last two Marvel shows still standing on Netflix. Samsung to develop Exynos Auto chip, coming first to Audi cars

Samsung’s latest news involving the automotive space will benefit Audi first, which is expected with the company’s ongoing partnership with the automaker. Samsung is developing its first Exynos chip for cars and it’s expected to come to Audi vehicles in 2021. The Exynos Auto is being created to bolster the in-vehicle infotainment system of these cars. It’ll be based on an eight-nanometer process tech and have eight ARM Cortex-A76 cores with maximum speed of 2.1GHz. It’ll have an ARM Mali G76 GPU, HiFi 4 audio digital signal processor, and an intelligent neural processing unit. Samsung is promising to introduce premium audio features as well as multi-screen capabilities—with support for up to six screens and 12 camera connections.

OhMiBod’s remote vibrators can be controlled via upcoming Apple Watch app

If you take your personal pleasure seriously, or want your Apple Watch to help you out, OhMiBod has plans to launch an Apple Watch app as well as an Alexa Skill for its pleasure products. The Apple Watch app will make use of the Pulse feature and your heart rate to control the intensity of the company’s Bluetooth-enabled vibrators. Meanwhile, the Alexa Skill, which is expected to arrive later in the spring, will let you control your OhMiBod vibrators using voice control alone. It’s not clear how either will work but we’ll probably hear more when these features launch.
