Nest just announced three new colour options for its Learning Thermostat lineup, bringing the options up to seven. The three new finishes are polished steel, mirror black, and brass. These options are part of the new Artist Collection, which Nest describes as being “inspired by the work of industrial artists who create beautiful pieces using various metals.” The new colours are coming to the US for US$249. Meanwhile, the polished steel option is coming to Canada.

Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:18AM YouTube is making it easier for you to subscribe to videos—at the same time, helping its users get more subscribers. Embedded videos now have a “Subscribe” button at the top left portion of the video. You just hover over the logo of the channel owner and the option to subscribe to the channel will show up (or it’ll show if you’re already subscribed to said channel). You can check it out in the sample video we’ve embedded above from our channel. Simply hover over the Canadian Reviewer logo to see it in action.

Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:59AM For quite some time now, you’ll be able to unlock your Android phone with an “OK Google.” With “Unlock with Voice Match,” you could do this with past Google Pixel phones. But now Google quietly took this feature out from the latest Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones. As it explained on its support page, “On Pixel 3 phones, you can’t unlock your phone by saying ‘Ok Google.’ Instead, you can use the Google Assistant on your lock screen.” This change takes away a lot of functionality. You used to be able to make calls, send messages, and access third-party apps via Google Assistant voice support without needing to unlock your phone.
