BUNZ expands Shop Local to promote community and sustainability

Toronto-based startup BUNZ announces it has expanded its Shop Local city networks to Hamilton, Ottawa, and Vancouver to further its commitment in promoting community and a sustainable economy. Originally introduced in Toronto in April 2018, brick and mortar retail partners in each city are now accepting BTZ (Bunz Trading Zone), the company's cryptocurrency, primarily used to trade for goods and services on the Bunz.app and at local shops.

Apple iPhone 9/iPhone XC gets pictured ahead of official launch

We’re not quite sure how Apple is approaching the naming convention for the new iPhones coming out at tomorrow’s launch but we seem to be getting a better look at one of the new phones. The “entry-level” 6.1-inch model that’s being called the iPhone 9 or iPhone XC (depending on who you ask) has been spotted in the wild. The back of an iPhone has been pictured (as you see above) and it looks to sport a single camera lens that looks larger than the one on the iPhone 8, so people are inferring that this must be one of the new phones. We’re going to hear more about this device and others tomorrow, September 12 at 10 a.m. PDT.

Sony offers free copy of ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’ to those who pre-order the Xperia XZ3 in Europe

Sony is looking for ways to boost its smartphone sales and one of its newest ideas is to bundle a popular video game with it. If you’re in Europe and you pre-order Sony’s upcoming Xperia XZ3, you get a free copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for the PlayStation 4. The phone will ship on October 5, while the game will be coming a week after as Call of Duty launches globally on October 12. The game will reach you as a digital download.

Microsoft doubles down on Canadian investment with downtown Toronto HQ announcement

Microsoft Canada announced it will move its Canadian headquarters to a new space in the heart of downtonw Toronto in 2020. The new facility on Bay Street will be located at the new CIBC Square and will span four floors in the 132,000 square-foot space. 

The future home will also include a new state-of-the-art Microsoft Technology Centre that will serve partners, customers as well as a learning centre for school-aged youth. The move is just one of a series of significant investments Microsoft is making. These investments will enable an expansion of Microsoft's Canadian operations, including increasing staff, modernizing its real estate, and growing its research lab in Montreal that is focused on artificial intelligence.
