Spotify will let artists submit unreleased or new music to its playlist editors

A new feature Spotify is testing out in beta will allow artists to submit their unreleased or new music directly to playlist editors for curated playlist consideration. So, for any artist or manager who have a Spotify for Artists or labels using Spotify Analytics, they can submit their songs and these will be made available to over 100 editors Spotify employs around the world. What’s important for these songs to be considered is that they include as much information as possible, including genre, mood, the cultures the artist or song represents, if it’s a cover, and other data that can help the editors classify the song. And if these tracks are submitted seven days in advance, these can be automatically added to the artist’s followers’ Release Radar playlists.

Report claims Samsung might merge its Galaxy S line with its Note line

If the story coming out of Korea is to be believed, we might be seeing some changes in Samsung’s flagship lines. According to Korean media outfit The Bell, Samsung’s Vice Chairman Jay Lee is thinking of merging its Galaxy S and Note lines. This move makes a lot of sense with Samsung facing tough competition in the entry-level and mid-range market from the Chinese companies and people complaining about the rising prices of flagships. Plus, the differentiating the S and Note line seems to be getting harder and harder with each iteration.

There are rumours that Samsung plans to release three versions of the Galaxy S10 and it would make sense if the highest end will feature the S Pen, but then there will also be a regular version, and a lite or budget version. If Samsung pushes through with this, it’ll help them streamline their operations as well as save them money on development, design, and manufacturing.

Huawei’s solution to an almost all-screen display is a hole instead of a notch

We’ve seen notches, retractable cameras, but what else can be done to get more screen out of a smartphone? Huawei’s solution seems to be making a hole in the display for the selfie camera. It looks similar to what Essential has done but instead of linking it to the top of the device, it’s a cut-out at the top center of the screen. According to leaked internal documents, this concept will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. Huawei shows this implementation off on a 6-inch LCD display. What do you think?
