Venom gets new trailer, finally has titular anti-hero in it

This isn’t the first trailer for Sony Pictures’ upcoming Venom movie but it might as well be. The first trailer didn’t show Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock turn into Venom at all. Finally though, we get a better glimpse at Brock and how he comes to terms with the powers he’s received from the symbiote. The trailer might seem to have put a lot of key plot points that could be touched on in the film so those who are spoiler-averse might want to avoid this. The film is coming out on October 5th and no it won’t crossover into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in case you were wondering.

Target looking to add 600 new EV chargers in more than 100 locations in the US

Target is going all-in on supporting Hybrid and EV vehicles with the announcement that it will be adding 600 new EV chargers in the next 2 years which will be distributed across 100 sites in 20 states in the US. This gives drivers of electric vehicles a viable option to top up their cars while they are shopping.

In order to roll out the EV chargers, Target has partnered with varied charging providers for the project, including Electrify America and Target's current partners ChargePoint and Tesla.  Adding EV chargers is part of Target's carbon reduction initiative. This includes the use of wind and solar power for some of its energy needs, with plans to have rooftop solar panels at 500 stores by 2020. Eventually, Target aims to source 100 percent of its energy needs from renewable sources.

Apple reportedly gets rights to Ed Sheeran documentary ‘Songwriter’

You might soon be seeing the documentary on Ed Sheeran’s life soon on “Apple’s multiple platforms.” The tech company reportedly paid somewhere in the “low to mid-seven figures” to not just make it available on its platform (it’s presumed to be coming to Apple Music) as well as a theatrical release. The film premiered in Berlin and is coming to North America via the Tribeca Film Festival.

The documentary, which highlights the life and career of the singer, was directed by Sheeran’s cousin Murray Cummings. You will see people like producer Benny Blanco and Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp, among others, in the film.

Wikipedia adds page previews to web version

Mockup by Nirzar Pangarkar/Wikimedia Foundation, CC BY-SA 3.0

Ever found yourself going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole? Well, Wikipedia hopes to make those sessions a bit more productive with its latest feature for the web. The site now shows page previews via a popup window to give you additional context for a link. When you hover your mouse over the link, it’ll show you an image and a few sentences from the link to inform you what you might be clicking on. When you click on it, it’ll take you to the page in question. If not, it just disappears.

Wikipedia claims that testing done for the feature had users interacting with content more on the page and most users didn’t disable this feature. And while the site’s page views have gone down, this apparently means that people are finding the information they get on the fewer pages they visit as sufficient sources of information.
