Drake breaks Twitch’s record for most-viewed, non-tournament stream while playing ‘Fortnite’

Canadian rapper Drake broke records in an unlikely place. He dropped into pro-gamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins’s stream of the popular sandbox shooter Fortnite: Battle Royale with NFL rookie turned gamer JuJu Smith-Schuster (FaZeJuJu_19) and rapper Travis Scott (cactus_jackk92). In case you were curious, Drake’s username is TheBoyDuddus. At the peak of the stream, it hit over 635,000 concurrent viewers, which completely overtook Dr. DisRespect’s previous non-tournament stream record of 388,888. The streaming service’s all-time Twitch record goes to Eleague Major: Boston with over 1.1 concurrent viewers.

Intuit's app helps self-employed workers invoice, manage expenses, and file taxes

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Self-employed workers are faced with a lot of pain points when tax time comes around. Not only do they need to carefully monitor expenses as well as send and follow up on invoices for jobs, getting all the necessary information to file taxes accurately and on time is a constant challenge. Intuit's QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app eliminates the pain points associated with financial management and helps self-employed workers easily manage their operations from anywhere.

"We identified this new market, the independent contractor and we noticed that there wasn't a quick adoption of the traditional QuickBooks App.  We did a ton of research and identified what their unique needs were. Rather than needing a full financial picture of their business, the things that were important to them were being able to keep track of their expenses and getting ready for tax time," says Melika Hope, Senior Product Manager at Intuit.

Google Maps now has wheelchair accessible routes

Google Maps improves its functionality for wheelchair users with its latest feature. The navigation app can now identify routes that are wheelchair-accessible. These routes are useful not just for those who use wheelchairs but also those who are on crutches or have children in strollers with them. The feature comes to a handful of cities at the moment, including London, New York, Tokyo, Mexico City, Sydney, and Boston, but Google promises it’s working with transit agencies and its users input to add this information in other areas.

To access this feature, enter your desired destination into Google Maps and then tap Directions and then select the public transportation icon. And then select Options and then you’d find under Routes, the “wheelchair accessible” option. Google Maps will then show you possible routes you can take.

Rihanna calls out Snapchat for ad that makes light of domestic violence

Snapchat just keeps making things worse for itself. The latest controversy it finds itself in involves an offensive ad that had Rihanna taking to her Instagram Story to call out its competition. The ad for the smartphone game called Would You Rather appeared on the service over the weekend asking users if they’d rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown, which is seen as a thinly veiled reference to the infamous 2009 incident where Brown violently assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Snapchat has pulled the ad and apologized saying, “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines.” The service says they’ve blocked the app as an advertiser and that the game isn’t affiliated with the service and that it supports the National Network to End Domestic Violence and the group’s executive vice president sits on Snapchat’s Safety Advisory Board. But the singer is having none of it saying in her Instagram Story, “I’d love to call it ignorance, but I know you ain’t that dumb!”
