Kurt Russell will play Santa in untitled Netflix film

Marvel

It’s something we didn’t know we needed until it’s been suggested to us. Kurt Russell will be part of a new Netflix original film where he plays Santa Claus. He’ll be acting alongside child actors Juda Lewis (Netflix’s The Babysitter) and Big Little Lies’ Darby Camp. The story will center around the two siblings who somehow managed to inadvertently derail Christmas because they recorded Santa on video. It’ll be a mix of CGI and live action and it will be produced by a man who knows a thing or two about Christmas-related hijinx, Chris Columbus, who you may know from the Home Alone films. The Angry Birds Movie’s co-director Clay Kaytis will be directing the film. Shooting is expected to start in January and will hit Netflix by the time 2018 holiday season kicks off.

Spotify compiles your top tunes of 2017

With the amount of data Spotify has on you and your listening habits, it’s easy for the streaming service to do its yearly roundup of your favorite songs and artists of the year. That time of the year has come and you can find what songs have been on repeat in your playlists through the 2017 Wrapped site. It’ll show you everything from how many minutes of music you’ve listened to for the year, the number of songs you’ve listened to, the genres, and artists. It’ll generate two playlists for you. One is your top 100 songs of the year and the other it calls the “ones that got away,” which are songs Spotify thinks you should give a listen to based on what you’ve listened to throughout the year. You can, of course, share these results, if you dare, on social media.
