Samsung Galaxy Note8 tipped to cost almost €1,000

Rumour has been going around that the Galaxy Note8 is coming out in September. Evan Blass a.k.a. @evleaks shares exclusively on Venture Beat that the follow-up to the disastrous Note7 will be coming in the second half of that month. He also reveals that it’ll supposedly retail for €999 (almost CA$1,500). The Note8 is said to have a 6.3-inch display with the same edge-to-edge, 18.5:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display as the Galaxy S8 models. It isn’t even that much bigger than the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. But what would set apart the Note8 would be, of course, the S Pen stylus, as well as 6GB of RAM and dual camera setup (12-megapixel sensors with independent optical image stabilization).

The Note8 will supposedly have the same Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The fingerprint sensor is still going to be placed at the back but will supposedly be “separated by a greater distance” from the flash and the heart rate sensor. Samsung gets conservative with the battery of the Note8 as it’s rumoured to have a 3,300mAh battery. It’s understandable that Samsung wants to avoid last year’s fiasco from happening again. The Note8 will also supposedly get DeX support so if you got the dock for the S8, you can use it with this device, too. According to Blass, the Note8 will be available in shades of black, blue, and gold. But we’re sure these will come in different names to describe them. Are you considering getting the new Note8?
