Spotify makes music discovery and sharing with QR-style Spotify Codes

Sharing music on Spotify right now is a bit of a tedious affair. It involves tapping through a bunch of menus before you can send a link to someone. Spotify is simplifying the process with its new Spotify Codes feature. This QR-style format is currently only available on mobile but is easily accessible.

If you want to share a song with your friend, all you have to do is tap on the three dot menu option and you’ll see Spotify Codes on top with the album cover. The code itself is a wave-like figure beside the Spotify logo. From there, your friend can open his or her Spotify account and head to Search tab. You’ll now see a camera icon on the search bar. Tap on that and scan the image and it’ll automatically play the song on his or her device. If you aren’t together, screenshots of the code works, too. They can pull up the images from their Gallery as well to get the song to play.

OnePlus confirms summer launch for the OnePlus 5

Leaked mockup of the OnePlus 5

The next OnePlus smartphone is making its debut this summer. Not much is known about the OnePlus 5 but leaks have suggested it’ll carry a dual-camera setup and like other devices from the Chinese company, it’ll have high-end specs, too. If you’re wondering why OnePlus is skipping over the number four after last launching the OnePlus 3T, then that’s because the number four is considered an unlucky number in China. It is also coincidental that the OnePlus 5 is the fifth device from the brand. However, that supposedly didn’t go into considering the name of the device. What does come into play is that number five is the jersey of former NBA player Robert Horry, who a number of OnePlus employees are a fan of. (Fun fact: They even have two paintings of Robert Horry hanging in their Shenzhen office). Whether that fun fact appeals to you or not, what we’re certain of is we’re pretty excited to see what OnePlus is cooking up.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’

Marvel’s new show gets its first teaser trailer and it’s giving off a bit of a Game of Thrones vibe with the whole dysfunctional brother relationship. It also doesn’t help that the villain, Maximus, is played by GoT’s Ramsay Bolton a.k.a. Iwan Rheon. It seems trouble is brewing between Maximus and his brother Black Bolt, who is played by Anson Mount. Maximus seems to want to overthrow Black Bolt, who happens to be the King of the Inhumans. We’re sure there are going to be more teasers in the coming months. The show is going to be making its IMAX debut on September 1st.
