Fire happens at one of the factories responsible for making the Samsung Galaxy Note7’s battery

Looks like bad press for the Samsung Galaxy Note7 is far from over. A fire broke out on Wednesday at one of the factories responsible for making the faulty batteries of the Galaxy Note7. The fire at Samsung SDI Co. in Tianjin, northern China happened at part of the facility where wasted materials were stored (these include faulty batteries). According to the local fire service who responded to the incident, the source of the fire was “lithium batteries inside the production works and some half-finished products.”

Samsung SDI spokesperson Shin Yong-doo tells Reuters the fire is minor and no casualties were reported. The factory is operating as normal without any impact on its production lines. As Apple Insider reports though, there were 110 firefighters and 19 trucks on the scene to put out the fire.

Netflix promises over 1,000 hours of new content for 2017

We’re covering the panels at Netflix’s event in New York City and the streaming service is promising even more content for the year. In fact, they are saying there will be over 1,000 hours of content this year ranging from new films, series, stand-up specials, to documentaries with each catering to varied interests.

“We aren’t in the business of creating ‘one size fits all’ programming, or building slates to fill a finite number of hours of a programming grid,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “We’re catering to a dynamic world full of people with different tastes - and as a result, no two Netflix experiences are alike - we want to have something for everyone to enjoy.” Some of the new stuff to watch for include Bill Nye Saves The World, Marvel’s Iron Fist, Chef’s Table Season 3, Dear White People, Girlboss, and Julie’s Greenroom, to name a few.

‘Marvel’s Iron Fist’ gets first trailer

Just before the new Netflix Marvel show hits the service on March 17, we get a look of what we can expect from Marvel’s Iron Fist. The first full trailer for the series introduces Danny Rand (Finn Jones) to us who is on a mission to reclaim his family’s company in New York City after being away for 15 years. And for those like me who are uninitiated about the lore of Iron Fist, we wonder why he’s been away for so long and what brings him back with a grasp of mystical martial arts. While we don’t know the conditions, what we do know is Rand’s story ties into the other Netflix Marvel shows Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. And we’ll all see them together in The Defenders later this year. Are you looking forward to this?
