CES 2017: Fitbit expands functionality with new software tools, personalized insights, smarter guidance and more motivation. 

Fitbit  is enhancing its health and fitness platform to deliver more personalized insights, smarter guidance and more motivation with new interactive features in the Fitbit app and Fitstar™ Personal Trainer app, and updates to Fitbit Blaze. These features include a more engaging social experience through a new Community section and tailored insights with Personal Goal Setting in the Fitbit app; more personalized guidance with a new Fitstar Personal Trainer app; and advanced health and fitness features coming to Fitbit Blaze.

December was most profitable month for Apple's App Store with $3 billion in revenues

Apple's App Store, which feeds services and apps into its iOS products hit a high point back in December with US $3 billion in revenue and most of the sales went to games. January 1, 2017 saw $240 million in customer purchases which made that the app store's busiest single day ever.

In an Interview with The Verge, Apple's Marketing SVP Phil Schiller said December was the biggest month of sales in history for the App Store. Launched back in 2008, the App Store now has  2.2 million apps available. Developers have earned $20 billion dollars in 2016, up 40 percent from a year ago. Games ruled the App Store and Pokemon GO was still the most popular and downloaded application as the most downloaded app of 2016.
