Expect around two to three mobile games from Nintendo in 2017

It took so long for Nintendo to release a game for the smartphone market but now they’re finally seeing how big an industry it is. In an interview with Japanese media outlet Kyoto NP, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima said the game developer plans to release to two three new mobile titles a year starting 2017. Kimishima believes the mobile gaming market could be one of the primary business divisions of Nintendo.

With Super Mario Run reportedly hitting 50 million downloads around the world, Kimishima believes the iOS game can reach the 100 million download mark. And with the game hitting Android sometime in 2017, that should help. We know so far that two upcoming mobile games will be based on Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem. But we’re curious to see what else Nintendo will have up its sleeve in the coming years.
