Niantic Labs and Google are working to fix full account access given to ‘Pokémon Go’

Niantic Labs and Google are working on a fix for the full access permission being asked by Pokémon Go from iOS users using their Google accounts to play the game. Researcher Adam Reeves first caught sight of this issue but may have apparently over-exaggerated the threat and that he didn’t test if the game really did give access to your email and data from Google. Niantic says they only access basic profile information, which include User ID and email, and they’re not accessing any other Google account information. The issue seems to be affecting only iOS players who use their Google account to play the game. According to Niantic, “Google has verified that no other information has been received or accessed by Pokémon GO or Niantic. Google will soon reduce Pokémon GO’s permission to only the basic profile data that Pokémon GO needs, and users do not need to take any actions themselves.”

Samsung’s set to unveil Galaxy Note7 on August 2nd

Move over Note6 and welcome Note7. Samsung's skipping a number as they're set to unveil their newest phablet next month. Samsung said their decision to skip over a number is said to "minimize confusion" and "complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge." Rumours of this new phablet have been online for a while and some of the suggested specs include a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 12-megapixel rear shooter, and 64GB internal storage. We'll find out the truth and more soon enough. We just have to wait a bit.

There’s still a ‘Gambit’ movie in the works

Image: Marvel Wikia

We’ve heard of Gambit getting his own movie but that was a while back. Since then, it’s changed hands a number of times but no one quite knows if it was still happening. Apparently, it still is. Producer Simon Kindberg confirmed that the movie is still alive and in the works and they hope to start shooting by spring of next year. According to Comic Book Resources, the reason for the delay was the script and Kindberg felt back in May that it wasn’t ready for filming but it looks like we might finally be getting that new X-Men spinoff soon with Channing Tatum playing the titular character.
