Ford takes mindfulness behind the wheel

By Sonya Davidson

It seems that everyone is jumping on the mindfulness bandwagon these days. It may be a strategy to grab the attention of millenials but I'm keen on taking these ideas to test. Recently, I had an interesting idea coming from Ford Canada. Having spend several years tracking the company's initiatives and research on a lifestyle perspective (because you can get all the specs and driving views you want from everyone else) this was definitely of interest. Microsoft develops IFTTT competitor called Flow

Microsoft wants to help automate your workflow and take on If This Then That (IFTTT) with a new service called Flow. What IFTTT does is automate various popular web services; for example, automatically save Instagram photos your tag into your Dropbox account. For Flow, it wants to do something similar. It connects to services such as Twitter, Slack, Google Drive, Office 365, and Dropbox. Microsoft has different flows you can do like being able to generate SMS alerts for emails, get Slack notifications when a file is uploaded to Dropbox, and create flows to copy files from OneDrive for Business to SharePoint.

It’s available at the moment as a preview and has over 35 services enabled with more coming each week. It currently works for school or work Office 365 accounts or non-Outlook.com email addresses.

Get suggestions on what to watch next on streaming sites with MightyTV

Stumped over what to watch next? iOS app MightyTV will help you pick out what to watch on the various streaming media services you subscribe to. You can tell the app what services you subscribe to or if it’s on your phone, it’ll find it on its own. Afterwards, register using your Facebook account and get started. Taking inspiration from Tinder gestures, you can swipe right to like, swipe left to dislike, swipe up to skip, tap to get more info and a preview, tap the “Watchlist” icon to add it your list, and tap the play icon to select episodes to watch now. This app is useful for bringing in one place all the things you want to catch. Unfortunately, there isn’t an Android version of the app just yet.

Apple’s new ‘Shot on iPhone’ ad honors moms

A week ahead of Mother’s Day, Apple’s new “Shot on iPhone” ad pays tribute to one of the most important people in your life, your mom. It shows a collection of images and videos of mothers interacting with their children. Underneath each photo or clip is the name of the amateur iPhone user who captured the moment.

You can also now add a photo of your mom to the Mother’s Day film for a personal touch.
