Oculus founder delivers first consumer version of Rift to developer in Alaska

Oculus founder Palmer Luckey didn’t want just any delivery man delivering the first Rift virtual reality headset to anyone. He wanted to make sure he was the one to put it in the hands of the lucky customer. The one thing he was regretting about the experience is wearing flip-flops in Alaska. As for the first one to get said VR, Ross Martin, a VR enthusiast and indie developer from Anchorage, Alaska, was excited for the experience. Martin documented part of his experience with Luckey on Twitter. He said in a tweet, “So grateful to Palmer Luckey and Oculus for coming all the way to Alaska. You guys are super cool!”

FITC marks 15th year as Canada's biggest digital event on April 17-19

Android Pay prepares for its British Invasion

Android Pay is fast gaining ground and is aiming to unveil its services in the U.K. which is usually a good test bed for the rest of Europe as well as other countries in the world. Android Pay uses secure applications as well as NFC to enable touchless mobile payments.

Google has announced that it is to launch its Android Pay mobile payment service in the UK within the “next few months.” Supporting banks will include Bank of Scotland, First Direct,Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, M&S Bank, MBNA and Nationwide Building Society, “with new banks being added all the time,” according to Google. Android Pay is not available in Canada at this time.

Toyota's 2017 Prius Prime tries to reinvent the hybrid platform

While popular in certain markets, Toyota's long standing Prius line of hybrid electric passenger cars would never win awards for styling or looks. This is all about to change with the redesigned Prius Prime which brings a new look and upgrades many of the key Prius features.

Essentially the second generation of the Prius line, the Prius Prime adds a bigger battery pack and a range of 22 miles (35 kilometres) on its electric component. In terms of styling, the front end of the Prius Prime has been boldly redesigned and looks more in tune with current Toyota models.
