How has Netflix impacted our modern day romance?

By Sonya Davidson

Did you hear about that Airbnb apartment that's Netflix themed? Funny but...Anyway....

We've all snicker when our friends say that they plan to "Netflix and Chill" -- you know what that means, right? Well, as far as my parent friends are concerned they really are simply wanting to stuff their faces with popcorn and get comfortable in their softest flannel pajamas.

Top playlists on the YouTube Kids App for Family Day

By Sonya Davidson

As we head into the Family Day long weekend here in Ontario and other Canadian provinces (and bracing for bitterly cold weather), families are all now looking for things to do with their kids. Where do we often do our research? It's no surprise that we often reach for our devices and Google "things to do" whether it's adventures outdoors, indoor activities or what's open during the long weekend.

Families with kids, like us, often find we need some downtime in between outings...okay truthfully, I really don't want to go outside and there are so many cake pops we need to make!

CIAS 2016: A look at Ford's Fusion Energi SE plug-in hybrid

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Toronto - Ford Canada unveiled a new family of Ford Fusion midsize sedans here yesterday during the Media Preview. Most notable was the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid which comes at a time where there are more benefits coming to hybrid electric car owners. In a nutshell, plug-in electric and full EV cars will get green license plates which gives them access to HOV and HOT lanes even if there is only one person in the car. The Government has also increased incentives to make these more affordable.

The Fusion Energi SE has a 32km electric range but is backed by a gas engine which it can run in both hybrid (utilizing both powerplants) or gas as the case may be.

Pandora reportedly wants to get acquired

Pandora seems to be positioning itself to be acquired. A report from The New York Times claims Pandora, with the guidance from Morgan Stanley, is currently in preliminary discussions for a possible acquisition. It isn’t specified if there are potential buyers. Recent moves from Pandora’s end—like buying technology from the now-shuttered Rdio and acquiring Ticketfly—are believed to help make the service more attractive to streaming music fans, especially with its stocks down 60 percent since October 2015. But it can also be looked at as a way to make the company more attractive to potential buyers. Pandora won’t comment on the report but we won’t be surprised if we hear more about this in the future.
