BBM for Android update lets you like posts, among other enhancements

You may or may not still be using BlackBerry’s BBM service. If you are using it on Android, the app has been updated with a number of new features. You can now like posts that appear on your feed and broadcast messages to different contacts in different categories. You also get the ability to delete chats directly.

Aside from that, you can also search for BBM chats, channels, groups, and contacts. BlackBerry also improved Privacy Control so you can edit messages and photos or retract them.

Pebble to update older smartwatches with Timeline feature

Pebble is bringing their Timeline feature from their Pebble Time devices to older Pebble Classic and Pebble Steel smartwatches. The program, currently in beta, is open to Android users and brings support for Pebble Time’s 3.0 operating system include the timeline, unlimited apps, and more are on their way to Pebble Classic and Pebble Steel this month. The firmware update will be made available to both Android and iOS users by the end of the month.

FineSCanner App enables iPhones to scan books and documents on-the-go

ABBYY’s FineSCanner is an app for scanning books with your iPhone and iPad, using the breakthrough BookScan technology. A new version of FineScanner has launched, with new document ‘capture’ technology; it automatically finds the edges of a page and photocopies it without having to press a button. All you have to do is to place your smartphone on a document and scanning begins automatically.

Due to the new technologies of Apple iOS 9 – which has 3D Touch and Spotlight Search – you can effectively work anywhere at anytime, needing only your iPhone.

Google Play Music reveals family access plans for $14.99 a month

Following up on last weeks announcement of a free, ad-supported service, Google Play Music now has a familiy plan that costs $14.99 for up to 6 member accounts.

Google says in its blog that, "you’ll unlock all of the same features you’d get from having individual subscriptions, including ad free, unlimited access to more than 35 million songs and the ability for each family member to stream simultaneously on any device, all for one low price.
