Pinterest looking to diversify its workforce

Pinterest has plans to bring in more women and minorities into its staff, according to Evan Sharp, the company’s co-founder and CEO. Sharp detailed in a blog post how they plan to change its full-time engineering sector to have 30 percent female and eight percent minorities. They also intend to put to practice the “Rooney-rule” where they are required to interview at least one person from an underrepresented background and one female candidate for every available leadership role. By making their plans public, Pinterest hopes other companies will follow suit.

Leak shows off new Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+

Well-known tipster Evan Blass (a.k.a. @evleaks) showed off what Samsung has up its sleeve for its August 13th event. He tweeted what looks like official product shots of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ as well as supposed specs of the Note 5.

The new phablet looks to be a refinement of its predecessor with a 5.7-inch quad HD display, 16-megapixel rear camera, and 32GB of internal storage. It’ll also supposedly be carrying the Galaxy S6’s octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Unfortunately, it’s said this’ll lose the microSD card slot, too. The Note 5 is said to be shipping with Android 5.1 and most likely will be carrying some new pen-related features. Not much was said about the S6 Edge+ though. At the moment, these are all still rumours so you must take them with a grain of salt. We just have a few days to wait anyway to see what’s real and what isn’t.

Dr. Dre to drop new album after 15 years, will be exclusive to Apple

'

Dr. Dre joined Apple when Beats was bought by the Cupertino-based tech giant. So it comes as no surprise that Dr. Dre will be creating exclusives for the company. The hip-hop mogul announced on his Beats 1 radio show "The Pharmacy," that he’ll be dropping his first new album in 15 years entitled “Compton A Soundtrack.” He describes it as his “grand finale” on Twitter so we speculate it’s his last major album, but then again we can be wrong. The album comes out just in time for the release of the "Straight Outta Compton,"movie which chronicles Dr. Dre and rapper Ice Cube's meteoric rise as rap's supergroup N.W.A.

The album is already available for preorder on iTunes and will drop on August 7th. It’ll also be up for streaming on Apple Music. As mentioned in the title, this’ll be an Apple-exclusive release.
