Sony introduces Media Player for the PlayStation 4

Sony’s bringing a much-requested feature into the PlayStation 4 with the arrival of the Media Player for the PS4. If you own a PS4, you might want to start checking on it as the feature is going live already. This feature lets you watch content from various sources, adding functionality to your console. It can play different file formats such as MKV, AVI, MP4, and MPEG-2 TS in various codecs. You can also play MP3 and AAC music files as well as view photos in JPEG, PNG, and BMP formats.

Google brings back old Chrome bookmark manager

Google heard your complaints about the new Chrome bookmark manager and did something about it. So, Chrome now gets back the classic version. According to Google’s Sarah Dee, she wrote on the company’s product forums that they were bringing the old one back. Those who weren’t exactly turned off by the new look can still get it as a Chrome extension.

Ubisoft outs flashy ‘Assassin’s Creed’ trailer

It’s E3 time so it means we’re getting a lot of really flashy trailers from upcoming titles. No stranger to this is Ubisoft and the new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. It’s not very indicative of what game play will be like but that’s usually how trailers at E3 are. We see Jacob and his crew, The Rooks, jump between stagecoaches and run across rooftops. It looks very cinematic and dramatic. We will get to see more game play hopefully before the October 23rd release of the game.

XBox One to offer native backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 titles

Like fine wine, gaming great gaming consoles get better with age. Microsoft has listened to XBox one gamers and finally figured out how to add backward compatibility to the XBox One. This means that Xbox One will be the only console to support backward compatibility natively, for free, and all with next-gen features like screenshot, broadcasting and Game DVR.
