Skype Translator is now available for everyone

Microsoft is giving us a glimpse of the future of video chatting with Skype Translator. It’s been available via invite for a while but now they’ve opened the floodgates for everyone. You can now try the service with live translating for English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Italian. Of course, it isn’t as fluid as natively speaking the language, but programs like these are bringing us closer to that reality.

Sony introduces LED bulb with Bluetooth speaker

We’re not entirely sure if it’s practical to have an LED bulb with a Bluetooth speaker but if novelty speaks to you, then this new product from Sony might interest you.  Sony unveiled a 360-lumen LED bulb in Japan that pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth, making it easier for you to adjust volume and brightness. It also has a dedicated remote control that can be paired with via NFC.

We can’t say yet if sound quality would be good on this and we can’t test it out yet since Sony hasn’t said if it’s making its way out of Japan. If you do find yourself in Japan and have around an extra US$200 to spare, perhaps you might want to check it out, for novelty’s sake.

Google brings headlines to your Apple Watch

It might not be the Google app you’ve been waiting for to make its way to the Apple Watch but we guess you got to start somewhere. Google just updated its Google News & Weather app to support Apple’s new smartwatch. You can now browse headlines right you’re your wrist. According to Engadget though, it would seem the weather part of the app isn’t available at the moment. We’re hoping that gets fixed and more Google apps make themselves compatible with the Apple Watch.
