Microsoft Skype adds picture-in-picture for Android smartphones

It took a year but Microsoft finally brings picture-in-picture capability to Android smartphones. It was previously available on Android tablets but now the smaller-screened Androids can make use of this functionality as well. This means you can continue your Skype conversation while you use other apps.

This new update also intends to improve load times for opening messages and notifications; support formatted texts such as bold, italics, and strikethrough; include native Hindi language support; and fix the photo sharing bug between iOS and other Skype clients.

These accounts are usually meant to promote tourism and stay away from any political matters. We don’t know yet what direction this account will take but it has published three tweets so far with one saying it will be a “shop window for everything that makes Canada the best country in the world.” You can follow the official English account here and the French account here.

Review: Google Nexus 6

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

One of the most confounding products to come out of Google’s Nexus program, the Nexus 6 leapfrogs the Nexus 5 in terms of size, weight and pricing, while serving as the second official vessel of Google’s next generation Android Lollipop OS.

There was a time when purchasing a Nexus device meant getting the very latest software and hardware on an affordable yet high-spec device. Buying into the Google Nexus ecosystem was like purchasing the future months before it happened and I, like thousands of other phone enthusiasts, often bought first and asked questions later when it came to these Nexus branded smartphones.
