By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The popularity of Minority Report type augmented reality (or Tony Stark's holographic desktop) may be years away from coming to market but this hasn't stopped huge interest in VR or virtual reality headsets like Oculus Rift and even applications like Google Cardboard. Toronto-based tech hub Cordon has developed a new iPhone 6 Plus case  called Pinć (as in pinch) that doubles as VR goggles complete with an in-phone augmented reality user interface which is kicking off on Indiegogo campaign to help bring their concept to fruition. Review: Mazda MX-5 (2015)

Text and photos by Don Halliwell

In the final facelift of the current generation model, the MX-5 has an aggressive stance. The grill and front treatment look fantastic, while the rounded rear-end leaves something to be desired. The bottom line, I think it looks down right mean in Black with alloy wheels to match.

As the sun sets on the third generation Mazda MX-5, I was kindly treated to a week with one to put it through its paces. Admittedly, it’s taken me some time to put pen to paper on this review. When I was able to get behind the wheel, the weather was slightly warmer, while the trees were full of beautiful orange, red and yellow leaves. The delay has given me time to think. Several weeks later, I miss it – I can’t stop thinking about how it felt to be behind the wheel of a purpose-built sports car.  TLDR review: It’s a fun, no-nonsense roadster for all.

Continuing its long-time support for the (RED) movement to fight AIDS and various diseases,Apple and leading app developers are inviting customers to help (RED) achieve the goal of an AIDS-free generation in time for World Aids Day. For the next two weeks, a special section of the App Store called Apps for (RED) will offer 25 apps with exclusive new content where all proceeds will go directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. In addition, Apple will donate a portion of sales at Apple’s retail and online stores around the world on two of the biggest shopping days of the year: Friday, November 28 and Monday, December 1.

Square might bring Apple Pay to small businesses

Square is being used by a lot of small businesses as a mobile credit-card reader to help process credit card payments without the expensive point-of-sale terminal. But they just might venture into the Apple Pay territory in the coming year. Jack Dorsey, Square’s founder, said that their service is more a cash register and that it accepts all forms of payments. So, they plan on developing Apple Pay compatibility sometime next year. This plan might require some changes to Square’s existing hardware but then again, if they use the NFC capability, they might not even have to tweak that. If they get the technicalities sorted out, this plan might actually bring Apple Pay to smaller enterprise.
