OS X Yosemite Public Beta 3 and the correspoding developer preview 8 have already been released. For beta testers, the Yosemite Public Beta file is 1.63 GB and can be accessed by running Software Update on the Mac. Check back in a few days for our overview of the latest beta release and how it integrates with iOS 8, which is expected to drop on September 17th!

Samsung is releasing the tough and rugged variant of its popular flagship smartphone. The Galaxy S5 Active features a shock, water and dust resistant casing. It also sports a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, a heart-rate monitor and the S Health app, make it easy to track your fitness progress while counting your steps and receiving on-demand nutrition tips. Setting another record for pre-orders, Apple said today that the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the largest iPhones ever made, received over 4 million pre-orders. The devices, which come to stores on September 19th, are expected to be in short supply, so we should see some lines of people trying to get the devices on day one. Many iPhone preorders aren't scheduled to get to customers until October.
"Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October. Additional supply of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available to walk-in customers on Friday, September 19 at 8:00 a.m.," said a statement from Apple.
