Verizon’s servers link us to the HTC One M8 for Windows

We all know HTC is holding an event on August 19th and we’re getting more information that they are unveiling the Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8. A Verizon URL links to an image of the phone, which shows the HTC One M8 with Windows Phone UI on it. There are no comments from HTC or Microsoft about the device so we don’t know the features and specs of the device just yet. We can assume that it has similar specs to the Android version such as quad-core processor, 5-inch display, BoomSound speakers, etc.

Samsung and Microsoft came to an agreement in 2011 where Samsung would pay Microsoft royalties for cross-licensed patents. Analysts have estimated royalties on Android patents bring Microsoft nearly $2 billion a year. Now Samsung has stopped paying royalties and so Microsoft is suing. Samsung says that it will review the case. Stay tuned.

Dropcam halts pre-orders for Tabs to start work with Nest

Dropcam has just announced that they are halting work on Tabs, a sticky movement sensor that can be placed anywhere in your house to let you know if a door, gate, or window is open. The reason they gave is they’re now working on their projects with Nest. If you remember, Nest acquired Dropcam a while back. There is no word if Tabs will ever be made so those who pre-ordered will be getting full refunds in the coming weeks.
