Rogers turns on 700Mhz spectrum for certain areas in the country

Rogers has started to roll out 700MHz spectrum in various communities in Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver to improve LTE connection in the areas. This update means subscribers can get better coverage inside concrete office buildings, high rise condominiums, elevators, deep basement apartments, and underground parking garages. That will be convenient when you want to catch the 2014/2015 NHL season no matter where you are.

Google brings stock Android Camera to more devices, introduces new features

Google wants to bring features of its stock Android Camera to more users (well, at least those running Android 4.4) with the release of the app on Play Store. It brings Photo Sphere feature to more devices and introduces Lens Blur. This new feature is similar to what HTC and Samsung have introduced in their new flagship devices. It lets you adjust the depth of field on your photos similar to what you can do with DSLRs. Of course, the effect isn’t as accurate as what you’d get on a professional camera but it’s nice to have that option and lets you play around with on your phone.

Do Not Disturb helps block unwanted online content

Google Chrome extension Do Not Disturb wants to make sure you aren’t annoyed by ads, content widgets, data miners, user trackers and the like. It even provides you with a report of the things it blocks on your behalf and allows you to whitelist certain that you want to keep browsing. The free app also works in incognito mode of Chrome.
