First impressions of the HTC One (M8)

The HTC One (M8) improves on almost every aspect of the original HTC One and adds some user requested features. The silver model coming to TELUS in Canada is very similar in look and feel to its predecessor except the satin-finish aluminum now wraps around the entire case and the polycarbonate element that held it all together has been reduced dramatically.

LG Optimus G possibly going from Android 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 KitKat this Summer

The long-neglected LG Optimus G is purported to be getting a huge update to the latest, greatest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS sometime this summer. French carrier SFR is said to be getting the KitKat update this Summer which gives us a little hope that the North American versions will get a little love as well.

I actually have an LG Optimus G and thought it to be better than the Nexus 4 mainly because I liked the build and construction plus it can manage LTE connections without any tweaking. My Optimus G has been collecting dust mostly because it seemed to have been forgotten by LG in terms of updates (that and the Rogers LG Pad have made me leery of LG's commitment to support and provide updated software on their devices). KitKat will certainly breathe new life into one of the first LTE-enabled quad-core Android superphones. Make it happen LG!

HTC plans to introduce BlinkFeed to other Android devices

Looks like HTC’s BlinkFeed updates won’t be an HTC exclusive for long. The Taiwanese tech company announced plans to bring this feature to other Android devices soon through the Google Play Store. They didn’t specify what version of Android or specs you’ll need to make it run though.

Twitter adds photo tagging, multiple photo upload on iPhone and Android apps

Twitter is finally taking its cues from the likes of Instagram and Facebook by adding photo tagging and multiple photo uploads to its iPhone and Android apps. You can now tag up to 10 people in any photo. A “Who’s in this photo?” can now be seen on the compose screen. You can also upload up to four photos at once.

Tagging Twitter users on your photo also helps free up some space in your tweets. You can customize privacy options and notifications regarding who can tag you in the Settings page of your Android device or iPhone d or on the web.
