Yahoo! Mail usernames and passwords stolen in latest breach

Yahoo! Mail is the second largest email service in the world and many of its user's names and passwords have been stolen in the latest security breach. Yahoo!'s blog has a recent post that states, "Based on our current findings, the list of usernames and passwords that were used to execute the attack was likely collected from a third-party database compromise. We have no evidence that they were obtained directly from Yahoo’s systems."

Future's in the Cloud: Microsoft's next CEO likely to be Satya Nadela

Microsoft seems to be moving closer to (finally!) choosing the successor to Steve Ballmer, who leaves later this year. The front runner is an insider and the head of Microsoft’s cloud and data center software group,  Satya Nadella. 

A profile on Bloomberg Businessweek says of Nadela, "he’s a sharp, persuasive individual who has spent more than 20 years working at the company. Crucially, he’s more or less Microsoft’s cloud master and has a firm handle on what it takes to run Bing, Office365, Skype, and Xbox Live. Nadella is also well-liked and respected throughout the industry."

ARM Ecosystem collaborates for initial server platform standard

ARM  announced the collaborative development and immediate availability of a platform standard for ARMv8-A based (64-bit) servers, known as the ARM ‘Server Base System Architecture’ (SBSA) specification. This effort included input and support from software companies such as CanonicalCitrix, Linaro,MicrosoftRed Hat and SUSE, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) including Dell and HP along with a broad set of silicon partners.

Evernote for iOS gets ever better with latest update

Evernote has singlehandedly evolved its cloud note-taking service to a complete ecosystem composed of notebooks, bags and various knick knacks. On the software side, it has gotten better through time. The latest update for iOS users brings four times faster synchronization, faster and more responsive app performance on iOS 7, advanced customization options such as themes (everybody loves themes) and most importantly a fix to some of the more persistent bugs that have confounded users.
