Updates on Apple App Store to go on break from December 21-27

Apple users won’t be getting any updates from December 21 to 27 as the company is going to take its annual Christmas break. Apple informed developers in an email that the IT giant will not process app submissions, in-app purchases as well as app and pricing changes that week.

Gmail for iOS update brings new look, full-screen compose for iPad

Google updates its Gmail iOS app to feature a more iOS 7-friendly look plus more features for iPad version. The navigation bar for the iPad has been slimmed down and allows users to switch between accounts while in landscape view. iPad Gmail users can also have full-screen Compose windows in portrait.

The iPhone app has also been redesigned a bit but the bulk of the user interface changes were done to the iPad app.

Apple updates iBooks, iTunes U apps for iOS 7

Apple has finally redesigned its iTunes U and iBooks app and store to match iOS 7’s look. iTunes U took out the dark interior textures for a lighter design and iBooks good rid of wooden textures and bookshelves to feature a more minimal design.
