Review: Braven BRV-1 ultra rugged Bluetooth speaker

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

There are various Bluetooth speakers in the market catering to smartphones and tablets. Most of these do a good job of playing back music, acting as speakerphones and mic as well as carrying a charge for various hours. Lucky Surface RT buyers getting free Touch or Type Covers for a limited time

In a move that should have really happened sooner rather than later, Microsoft is giving buyers of their Surface RT ARM processor-powered tablet free Touch or Type Covers with their purchase. As reported by Cnet, US and Canadian Surface RT buyers who add the keyboards to their orders will not have to pay for them starting May 31. While they indicate a limited time offer, the promo could go on for around a month as per Microsoft's Surface blog. My advice, go for the Type Cover.

Pure Google variant of the HTC One confirmed, arrives on June 26th

For anyone holding out for a Pure Google variant of the HTC One, it looks like your wishes have come true. What is arguably the best Android smartphone will be available in certain markets sporting the latest version of Google's Jelly Bean Android OS and without any of HTC's innovative yet persistent overlay features like BlinkFeed and Sense UI elements. The new version will come unlocked to the US via the Google Play store and will be compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T (the latter should work just fine with Canadian carriers). Cost will be $599 and it looks like it will be featured alongside the Google-fied Samsung Galaxy S4. No word on Canadian availability or if this trend spells the end of the Nexus program for Google but this is a great development for all fans of the HTC One and Google.
