Toshiba's U920T Ultrabook leads double-life as a tablet

Who says you can't have it all? Toshiba announced the U920T Windows 8 Ultrabook Convertible device. Combining the performance and form factor of an Ultrabook with the ease-of-use of a tablet. Its unique sliding hinge allows it to be used as a touch screen tablet or Ultrabook with a keyboard. No pricing has been released but the U920T  should be available once Windows 8 is formally launched on October 26.

SlideShow: A look at Lenovo's Twist and Yoga Windows 8 Ultrabooks

I just got the chance at an exclusive peek at two of the more innovative Windows 8 Ultrabooks coming from Lenovo Canada. The ThinkPad Twist offers the robust build and design of ThinkPads but with the ability to convert the Ultrabook into a 13-inch Windows 8 tablet.

The IdeaPad Yoga is geared towards consumers and can flip the screen 180 degrees to turn it into a tablet or to create a makeshift stand. Both Ultrabooks come with sealed in batteries, a variety of Ivy Bridge Core i5 or i7 processors as well as Gorilla Glass covered multi-touch displays. Pricing and availability has not yet been announced.Expect these in the market shortly after the official Windows 8 launch on October 26.

Telus first Canadian carrier to scrap activation fees

Telus just announced that they have eliminated annoying activation fees! Starting today, Telus will no longer charge a $35 activation fee for new customers, nor will they charge a $25 equipment exchange for renewing customers. Yay!
