Facebook just celebrated its 1 billionth user confirming its status as the premiere social networking destination on the Internet today. Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the news known through a status update on his own Facebook page stating,"Celebrating a billion people is very special to me. It's a moment to honor the people we serve."

Synology America Corp. today announced the release of their first DiskStation with built-in wireless support, the DS213air. The new two-bay addition to the DiskStation family comes on the heels of Synology’s new Web Assistant, designed to simplify the installation process.
“The release of the DS213air is the next step on Synology’s path to simplify access to their invaluable data,” said Jason Bonoan, Product Marketing Manager at Synology America Corp. “When combined with the new Web Assistant, users can now set up and manage their DiskStations from mobile devices.”

RIM released BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1. This update, which is available for the Wi-Fi-only BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, offers a range of new capabilities and security features for consumers, enterprises and developers. Microsoft has officially confirmed that the holiday stores will open on Friday, October 26th. The Microsoft pop-up holiday stores located in the Toronto Eaton Centre, West Edmonton Mall, Oakridge Centre in Vancouver and the Burnaby Metropolis will open to the public. Additional details about the holiday stores will be made available soon, but feel free to check out the Microsoft Store website for more information in the meantime.
