Google will let you 'follow' Google Slides collaborator

Source: Google

If you're working on a presentation with a colleague or classmate, it'll be much easier to follow along with the changes made to your Google Slides file. The app will let you "follow" a collaborator to see what they're working on. You can click on their avatar in the Slides toolbar to see what slide they're on. You can also stop following them by clicking on the avatar again. You will also stop following the collaborator if they refresh or leave the presentation, when you make edits yourself, click on a different slide, or enter the Slideshow mode.

The feature is already rolling out for all Google Workspace customers, G Suite Basic and Business customers, and those with personal Google accounts.

Google will bring its Waze and maps teams together to cut costs, reduce overlap

Google hopes to reduce overlap work in its mapping apps by merging the Waze and Maps teams. Waze's 500 employees will be part of Google's Geo organization, which oversees Maps, Earth, and Street View. There will be no layoffs as part of the reorganization, but Waze CEO Neha Parikh is expected to leave the role after the transition. Waze will continue to work as a separate app. The merge is expected to start today, December 9.

Source: Ikea

Sonos and Ikea have a new addition to their collaborative Symfonisk product lineup. This time, it's a new floor-standing lamp speaker that will come to Ikea stores and website starting January for US$260 (around CA$354). The design resembles the second-generation Symfonisk lamp speaker but with longer legs that extend down to a circular base. This new speaker lamp comes with a bamboo lampshade, but you can buy replacement designs using different textures and materials.
