WishList: Canon's Cross Media Dock charges and shares pics and vids upon contact

Inductive charging for gadgets isn't new. The Palm Pre's Touchstone dock ushered in this cool technology and the Powermat folks have been applying this solution to all sorts of devices. This prototype Canon dock charges up to three  camcorders or cameras and it also transfers your photos and videos for viewing on a TV. It may not be for anyone but users with multiple cameras and memory cards plus the requisite battery  chargers and card readers and cables will definitely consider this smart, tidy and possibly energy efficient solution.

HTC Desire Z coming to Bell, offers a keyboard and mobile Flash 


Another Android smartphone has been announced, this time a 3'7 inch screen with a pop-out keyboard.  HTC Corporation announced the upcoming exclusive availability of the new HTC Desire Z Android-based smartphone from Bell Mobility. Taking advantage of Bell's HSPA+ network, the HTC Desire Z will be the first smartphone in Canada offering download speeds up to 14.4 megabits per second and it has Adobe Flash built-in.

Apple prepping for October 20th media event focusing on Mac OS

Apple has sent out invites to a "media event" set for October 20th. The most interesting thing about the invitation is the slogan "Back to Mac," as well as a sneak-peek at what looks to be a Lion, signifying the possible introduction of OS X 10.7 probably codenamed Lion. We're hoping that some new Macs will be announced at this event, hopefully a cheaper, smaller MacBook Air which hasn't seen an update for over a year.
