Apple watchOS 9 can show onscreen Fitness+ metrics on compatible third-party devices

With the upcoming rollout of watchOS 9 and iOS 16, Apple Fitness+ gets some more handy features. If you don't use Apple TV, you can use AirPlay to stream workouts on third-party devices. For these compatible third-party devices, you even get to see onscreen metrics. Apple hasn't mentioned in its PR what devices it supports.

Wristcam update lets you join a video call without the accessory

With watchOS 9's release coming up, Wristcam is getting a bit of an upgrade. According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, the Wristcam's third-party app on the Apple Watch will allow you to receive video calls from an iPhone without the Wristcam attachment. This means you can send audio and receive video from the other person in the call without sending back video. Wristcam is a niche accessory that adds a video-chat camera to the Apple Watch.

Apple Fitness+ adds new Pilates collection, Yoga trainer on Sept. 12

We have more Apple Fitness+ news coming your way. Another update coming on September 12 adds a new Pilates for More Than Your Core collection. It features a curation of 20- to 30-minute Pilates workouts designed for the entire body. All you need is a resistance band. You can do these workouts on its own or complement them with Strength and Core workouts.

The app also adds a new yoga trainer. Dice Iida-Klein is the latest addition to the Fitness+ trainer team and has 15 years of experience teaching yoga worldwide, including in Australia, the Netherlands, and Thailand. You can join his classes starting the 12th as well.
