Beats Fit Pro earbuds are coming to Canada for $250

After launching late last year in the US, the Beats Fit Pro is making its way to Canada and several other countries before the end of the month. You can get your pair in black, white, grey, or purple for $250 starting January 28. Preorders will kick off on January 24. It'll also be available in Europe and Japan in the same timeframe.

The Beats Fit Pro earbuds feature a flexible wingtip design built to help them stay comfortably anchored in your ears even through workouts. They get the same active noise cancellation system as the AirPods Pro, IPX4 water resistance, and head tracking when listening to spatial audio. These earbuds offer a battery life of up to six hours on a charge, plus an extra 21 hours with the case.

Google, Ford want to use small radar for more touch-free control, health-tracking

Radar might play a more significant part in more personal tech soon. Google, Ford, and four other partners have published specs for a Ripple standard to bring small radar to more devices in a "privacy-respecting" fashion. The framework, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association, theoretically lets any device maker use small-scale radar for tasks like touch-free gesture control, occupancy detection, health monitoring, and more.

You can check out the early details through GitHub, focusing on interoperability between radar types. Developers can initially add special use cases through extensions, but the Ripple team hopes to build those add-ons into later versions of the standard. As Engadget pointed out, Google and Ford's involvement makes sense given they ship products with radar in them (Nest Hub for Google and Ford's Co-Pilot 360).

OnePlus used CES to tease the launch of its newest flagship, but now, it has officially unveiled the OnePlus 10 Pro in China, with a global release expected later in 2022. It comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz LTPO display, which allows it to dynamically change the refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz depending on what's on the screen. It runs on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It also has a large 5,000mAh battery paired with OPPO's SuperVOOC 80W fast-charging—which lets you fast-charge from 0-100% in 32 minutes—and 50W wireless charging with reverse wireless charging support.

Razer takes back claims its Zephyr mask uses 'N95-grade' filters

Razer has scrubbed any mention of the term "N95-grade" on its marketing materials for the Zephyr and the recently launched Zephyr Pro after receiving criticism over the labelling. YouTuber Naomi Wu posted a Twitter thread over the weekend, drawing attention to the labels the company attached to the mask. She said its marketing was "deceptive," and pointed out that the N95 is an official certification by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for respirators that filter out at least 95 percent of airborne particles. This designation involves the entire mask and not just a part of it, accounting for both fit and filtration. Neither Zephyr products are listed as NIOSH-approved respirators on the agency's site.
