OnePlus 10 Pro will launch in January

It looks like OnePlus is switching up its product release timeline. OnePlus CEO and co-founder Pete Lau shared on Weibo, "OnePlus 10 Pro, see you in January." If this is true, this means OnePlus is moving up its flagship release from March/April to the start of the year.

According to rumours, OnePlus only plans to release one flagship phone instead of its usual base and pro models. Lau has confirmed that the OnePlus 10 devices will carry a new Android-13 based operating system the company is sharing with OPPO. Another thing we know is the upcoming handset will run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. BBK Electronics own both brands, and they formally merged this year, which turned OnePlus into OPPO's sub-brand.

Google temporarily disables 'Hold for Me' on the Pixel 6

Source: Google

Google has temporarily disabled the useful Hold for Me feature on Pixel 6 phones that received the December update. A bug in this release is causing trouble for these devices. But it only affects those Pixel 6 phones that have updated to the December security update. Some might also lose the Call Screening option.

Hold for Me allows Google's Duplex technology AI to hold the line for you while waiting for an actual person to come on the line. It's useful when you're trying to get in touch with businesses. Call Screening prevents robocallers from reaching you on your device.

Huawei's latest foldable takes on the stylish, portable clamshell design. The company officially unveiled its P50 Pocket smartphone. It gets Huawei Mate X series' patented hinge mechanism, which means there should be no visible gap between the top and bottom half of the phone when it's folded.

Inside is a 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED display with a tall 21:9 aspect ratio and 2,790 x 1,188 resolution. There is a punch-hole cutout for the 10-megapixel selfie camera at the top centre.

LG unveils unusual DualUp 16:18 monitor

Source: LG

LG is ready to introduce what it calls "a completely new format in the monitor market." Its new DualUp monitor sports an unusual 16:18 aspect ratio, which LG says is the same screen real estate of two 21.5-inch displays and offers a vertical split view function that "lets users see more in one glance."

Another benefit LG claims for its unique form factor is that double-height offers ergonomic benefits. It "helps reduce side-to-side head movements, the main cause of neck pain." The design might make it easier to keep an eye on the multiple apps you have open. And as The Verge pointed out, LG seems to be marketing it to video editors who could get a lot of use out of this aspect ratio.
