Apple will no longer remove Mac app it threatened to remove over branding

A popular, six-year-old Mac app was about to get axed in a few days over its name and branding, which Apple claims breaches its App Store guidelines. The tech giant backtracks its decision and allows Amphetamine to stay on the Mac App Store. Amphetamine is a free Mac app that lets users keep their machine awake for a set amount of time. This highly-rated app was launched back in 2014 and has been downloaded over 432,000 times. 

For unknown reasons, Apple decided the app violates its guidelines. Its developer William Gustafson posted an extensive report on GitHub sharing about how an Apple representative reached out to say his app will be removed from the Mac App Store on January 12, 2021, if he didn't make changes to the app.

Samsung officially announces Jan. 14 Unpacked event to launch next flagship phones

 

We talked a bit about this earlier today and in previous weeks. We now have official word from the South Korean company that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on January 14 at 10 am Eastern or 7 am Pacific virtually. This event will unveil Samsung's new Galaxy S21 series, which is expected to look similar to the S20 series but with larger camera modules with improved photo and video capabilities. Other rumoured devices to be unveiled at the event will be the Galaxy Buds Pro and possibly the Galaxy Smart Tag.

Samsung teases Galaxy S21 launch without revealing details about it

All Samsung has to say officially about the upcoming Galaxy S21 series is "A new Galaxy awaits." It doesn't even mention what model name we're going with this year. Except there's a subtle change between the dates 2020 to 2021 in the teaser video now up on the company's YouTube channel. It also shows the evolution of the Galaxy S series through the years. But Samsung didn't even reveal the date of its next launch. Rumours have been going around that the launch is happening soon (as early as January 14). So, the wait to hear more about this new Galaxy shouldn't be too long.

'Bendable' LG OLED gaming monitor will appear at CES 2021

LG Display doesn't just have transparent OLED demos to show off at its CES 2021 virtual showroom. LG will also showcase a 48-inch 4K "Bendable CSO (Cinematic Sound OLED) display" that changes from a flat screen to a curved one at a press of a button. It has up to a 1,000mm radius for those who want an immersive gaming experience.
