Video: Toshiba's new Excite Pure and Excite Write tablets

Toshiba still believes in the Android tablet space and is releasing two new models for the Back-to-School season. The reasonably priced Excite Pure ($319.99) and the super high-resolution Excite Write ($599.99). The Excite Write has a  2,560x1,600 resolution plus a Wacom digitizer and pen for input and drawing with 1024 pressure points as well as Harman Kardon stereo speakers. The Excite Write features the new Tegra 4 processor, 32GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera.

Excite Pure features a NVIDIA Tegra 3 mobile processor stereo speakers, Toshiba Audio Source Filtering and DTS Premium Voice Pro, the Excite Pure tablet lets users record and enhance sounds or voices for a rich and clear audio experience, even in noisy environments.

Google Android 4.2 keyboard now up for download

In a move that can be seen as bypassing its partners, Google has released its stock Android 4.2 keyboard on Google Play for devices running Android 4.0 and up. At the moment it is only available in English but other languages are said to be added soon. 

The free Google keyboard will bring you gesture-based typing and typing suggestions as well as the stock typing experience you might have wanted.

Warmly wake up with this alarm clock app

How many times have you been jolted awake by your obnoxious alarm tone? Wouldn’t it be a better experience to have yourself roused gently from slumber? That is what Seattle-based Chaos Collective wants to accomplish with its Android app, Warmly. The want to wake you up with sounds that are pleasing to the ears, such as sounds of breakfast being made and chirping birds. The app costs $1.99 and is available on Google Play Store.

Vine App now available for Android smartphones

 

Twitter's six-second-video creation and sharing app Vine has finally made it to Android. With 13 million users in iOS, Vine has become a popular way to share quick videos online. Vine has created a stop-motion content creation craze which some clever users have managed to elevate into something of an art form. Android users can get their Vine on right here.
