Apple reportedly raise iTunes Match and Apple Music Library matching limits

Reports from MacRumors have surfaced saying some users have noticed they’re able to upload more than 25,000 tracks to iTunes Match or Apple Music’s similar scan-and-match feature. Exceeding the current limit means Apple is keeping to its word to raise the matching limit. Back in late June and before the launch of Apple Music, Eddy Cue said on Twitter that Apple planned to raise this limit to 100,000 for iOS 9. But that didn’t show up when iOS 9 made its debut. When MacRumors checked with Cue in October, he said the company was “definitely working on it” and it would go live “before the end of the year.” So perhaps Apple is keeping its word, but they haven’t made official announcements for it yet.

Apple Music coming to Sonos, beta out on December 15

“We’re thrilled to be working with Sonos to provide the Apple Music experience in even more places fans enjoy music.” - Eddie Cue, Apple's SVP for Internet Software and Services.

Sonos has just announced that Apple Music will soon be accessible and compatible with Sonos speakers and networks.  The power of Sonos is that it can access and play back music from a variety of sources including Beats Music and Spotify as well as DRM-free local music on iPhones and Macs.

Sonos users will soon be able to stream anything from the Apple Music collection to single or multiple connected speakers simultaneously. This puts Apple Music within reach of thousands of Sonos users who have been clamouring for Apple's streaming music service and live radio service that is still being offered as a three month free subscription for new users. In other news Beats Music, which was compatible with Sonos before Apple purchased Beats, has shut down today.

Review: Apple TV (2015)

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Apple TV (2015) finally sees Apple’s set top box transcend its iTunes roots into larger and more expansive apps, entertainment, gaming and much more.

The latest version of the Apple TV is impeccably designed and smartly positioned as Apple’s play for the living room and possibly the central nervous system for HomeKit enabled smart devices.

Apple TV has actually placed itself in the line of fire in one of the most competitive segments in consumer electronics and entertainment. There's already heated competition with established players like Roku, Amazon (Fire) and Google with its insanely popular (and cheap) Chromecast. Apple TV (2015) is also competing against the previous incarnation, which is also cheaper, but far less powerful or versatile.

Apple Music comes to Android

As promised, Apple has brought its streaming music service into the hands of Android users. It improves on the Beat Music app and adds features like Beats 1 radio stations, curated playlists, access to the 30 million songs in the streaming library, and access to music purchases made on iTunes. This is notable as this is the first time Apple is giving Android users a chance to access iTunes music without any intermediary hardware. It even gets some Material Design touches.

The app is currently in beta and works with Android 4.3 or later. If you want to upgrade your subscription to a family plan, you’ll still need a Mac or iDevice to do that. Apple Music comes with a 30-day free trial.
