Apple to livestream March 21 media event

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Apple's confirmed that it is holding its next media event on March 21st at the intimate Town Hall at the campus in its 1 Infinite Loop headquarters in Cupertino. The event is the first product launch since the September 2015 bonanza in downtown San Francisco and is going to be live streamed at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Details can be found here.

Expected at this event are a new 4-inch iPhone which will be an updated version of the iPhone 5/5S form factor, a smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro (taking over the iPad Air) as well as more Apple Watch straps and accessories. Apple could also unveil some new MacBooks now with new Intel Skylake processors and improved specs as well as elaborate on new software features for iOS, Mac OS X El Capitan, tvOS and watchOS. Timing for the event is odd since Tim Cook and some Apple executives will be at a federal court hearing in California to address the Justice Department's order to unlock an iPhone to aid in an investigation.

While products and technologies will be front and centre, specially since Apple's biggest rivals have played their cards at Mobile World Congress (and their latest smartphones are already shipping), all eyes will be on Apple CEO Tim Cook to see if he uses the event as a podium to discuss the DOJ matter.

Review: 2015 Mazda CX-9

Text and photos by Donny Halliwell

On a trip that threw almost any situation an SUV might encounter in its lifetime, over the course of 5000 km in 10 days, the CX-9 handled them all without breaking a sweat.

Spring break is almost upon us, and with that comes melting snow and a flock of families preparing to hit the streets on weeklong road trips. Some will seek out the last bit of snow on the slopes and others will be seeking that warm southern sunshine. In this review, I get adventurous and seek out both. Read on to get my take on the outgoing 2015 Mazda CX-9.

Union Pearson Express train now features fare reductions

The Union Pearson Express which is a train that goes from near the Union Station in Downtown Toronto to Pearson International Airport now has reduced fares. The fare now costs $12 per adult passenger for a one way ticket to the airport and is $9 for Presto pass holders. The previous price for a one way adult ticket from the downtown core to Pearson International Airport was $27 and $19 for Presto pass users, the ride takes about 25 minutes.

The advantage of using the UP Express is that passengers can ride a clean, new and relatively spacious train with free Wi-Fi as well as avoid the usual traffic. It is an ideal way to get to the airport if you don't have much luggage since it is accessible via the TTC although you need to walk for around 15 minutes to get to the UP Express terminal near Union Station For more information check the site.
