2017 Ford GT Concept will be a Canadian-built technology platform for future cars

At the media preview of this year's Canadian International AutoShow, we got to talk to Ford Canada's Marketing Manager Marc Vejgman who walked us through some of the company's latest vehicles. Most notable was the 2017 Ford GT, a 600 horsepower supercar that is slated to be built in Canada and which will showcase various new technologies that Ford expects to bring to other vehicles in its stable of brands. The Ford GT Concept will be viewable at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre until February 21st.

TomTom Traffic hits 50 countries globally

Tom Tom Traffic, which is a feature that provide accurate real time traffic information is now available in 50 countries globally. Tom Tom also announced enhancements made to TomTom Traffic include Turn-Dependent Jam Information, Dynamic Speed Limit Messages, Weather Influenced Predictions and Road Condition Monitoring after Rain or Snow. The improvements will be rolled-out from April 2016.

Bell Business Markets and IBM are partnering to expand the cloud computing services available through Bell Business Cloud. This partnership will give businesses across Canada access to the IBM Cloud via a secure, high-speed private connection from Bell, simplifying the way customers adopt and build out their hybrid clouds.

More and more organizations are looking for a reliable and secure connection to the cloud, that doesn’t rely on sending data over the public Internet. Bell Business Cloud addresses this issue by enabling enterprises to plug into the IBM Cloud, giving them direct access to a wide range of on-demand computing and storage options.

Apple Pay now enjoys 1,000 US card issuers

Apple Pay, Apple's mobile payments platform tied to iPhone and Apple Watch now has 1,000 US card issuers as it makes a push to get more retailers into the fold. The company only has 998 banks and credit unions, but other issuers include retailers BJ's Wholesale Club and Kohl's. The service is available in 2 million locations and is also expected to expand into new countries like Spain and China. Apple Pay is available in Canada but only for American Express customers. We're hoping that other banks and credit cards will offer the service soon.
