More brands flocking to BlackBerry BBM Channels

BBM Channels is a clever social media feature within BBM on BlackBerry, Android and iOS and has been gaining ground since it was debuted. A number of brands and popular sports, entertainment and social personalities and brands have apparently joined and put up their own channels.

Last week, BlackBerry announced an update to BBM, which added several fantastic new features for all users, including BBM Channels to the Android and iPhone subscriber base. BlackBerry users have had access to a BBM Channels beta for several months now.  In those months, channel owners have already seen enthusiastic engagement from their subscribers. First look at Lenovo's ThinkPad 8 multimode tablet

The new Windows 8 tablets in 8-inch size are bringing the full functionality and versatility of Windows into an even more portable size. Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 was last year's foray into this space and this is further refined  with the new Lenovo ThinkPad 8. Starting at $459.00, this tablet sports Windows 8.1 running on an Intel Atom Z3770 Processor (2MB Cache, up to 2.39GHz), a bright 8.3" WUXGA 1920x1200 (16:10 ) IPS LED screen, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of SSD storage and 7 hours use on a full-charge and micro HDMI video out. Lenovo offers keyboards, cases and docks to extend functionality.

First look at the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X

The new Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is the latest Android smartphone coming to Canada. It's a sweet smartphone that features single and dual SIM versions, Quad Core 1.5 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, Android OS 4.2.2, a 13 megapixel camera and will be coming to Virgin Mobile. The Idol X looks and feels a lot like the LG-made Nexus 5 and I'm looking forward to testing it for the next couple of weeks.
