In addition to familiar Twitter features, the recently launched official Twitter app introduces new functionality that takes advantage of unique Windows 8 features. At long last, the popular WhatsApp cross-platform messaging app is available for the BlackBerry Z10. Considered one of the first major third-party apps for BB10 and a must-have on any device, WhatsApp is available for free. BlackBerry Z10 users (and users of older BlackBerry devices) will now be able to join iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Symbian users in the biggest cross-platform chat experience available now. Microsoft just released some of the source code for its Kinect Motion sensor accessory into open source. The idea to get the community involved in pushing the potential of Kinect, already a highly innovative controller-free gaming experience, into other applications. Code that's been shared out of Redmond includes face tracking, audio capture, slideshow gestures and green-screen effects.
