Mitsubishi discontinues its I-MiEV EV initiative due to poor sales

Mitsubishi is reportedly discontinuing its i-MiEV hatchback Electric Vehicle due to poor sales.

Green Car Reports got an official statement from Erica Rasch at Mitsubishi Motors North America who confirmed that “2017 was the last model year for the i-MiEV, and all available retail units have been sold.” This is surprising news given the surge in interest in EVs. Nissan's best-selling Leaf EV is re-upping an all new design for 2018 (plus more range), the Chevy Bolt EV has been met with accolades this year and Tesla seems unstoppable now that it has finally started shipping the Model 3.

None of those might have been made possible without the Mitsubishi i-MiEV which predated most mass-produced EVs. Mitsubishi started selling them in 2007.

iPhone SE expected to get a performance upgrade early next year

The most unnasuming iPhone is also one of Apple's most important models. The iPhone SE is ideal for users who want a smaller smartphone but who also crave the latest (somewhat) specs. With identical specs to the iPhone 6S, the iPhone SE also has an outstanding camera and, because of its smaller display, impressive battery life.

Apple has increased the iPhone SE's storage capacity and it looks like the wee iPhone is also going to get a pricessor update early next year. Rumour has it that the iPhone SE will be getting last year's A10 chip. Fingers crossed, hopefully Apple improves the display technology on the iPhone SE, which still rocks the same display that the iPhone 5 had.

2018 Nissan Leaf render teases what's to come for the popular EV

With 277,000 units sold so far, its hard to argue that the Nissan Leaf isn't the best-selling EV in the world. The previous model looked more a like a proof of concept prototype rather than a production vehicle but many Leaf owners loved their cars just the same, not just for the savings in energy the car offers but because of its fun and quirky personality.

Renders of the 2018 Nissan Leaf show a completely redesigned and more aggressive stance with sleeker lines and a more futuristic profile. The upcoming Nissan Leaf looks amazing and will reportedly have a prototype with a range of 165 miles (265 kilometers), which isn't only an improvement over its predecessor, it puts it right in the mix with the 2017 Chevy Bolt and Tesla's new Model 3.

Review: Anki Cozmo programmable robot

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

There have been a slew of interesting consumer robot products which offer smartphone integration and remote control as well as the ability to be programmed. Anki’s Cozmo robot is an intriguing example of how far we’ve come.

A tiny robot that fits in the palm of your hand, Cozmo is surprisingly complex. Put of the box, the robot is charged in its own dock and controlled using a smartphone app. This is a typical approach but there’s layers of interaction. The more time you spend playing with Cozmo, the more points it earns which upgrade its personality and it skillset.
