Grab the chance to stream Joss Whedon’s new film early for $5 on Vimeo

Joss Whedon might be busy filming stuff for the Marvel universe but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t take time to pursue his other projects. Following its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the supernatural love story written and produced by Whedon called In Your Eyes will be available internationally to stream on Vimeo for $5. You can rent the movie for a period of 72 hours. Be one of the first to catch this film before it is set to hit theaters in three months’ time.

“It’s exciting for us because we get to explore yet another new form of distribution and we get $5,” Whedon said.

Remember the Console Wars? Well, they're back

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The last time we had a bona fide console war between the Sony Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360, the iPad and its app ecosystem didn't even exist and neither did smartphone gaming. Since then, consoles have evolved into entertainment centers, set top boxes and even musical instruction tools. The next few days will reveal the future of the console as both Microsoft and Sony square off anew to show off their new hardware as well as the games, features and software.  This kicks off today with Microsoft's Xbox event and will continue into E3 with Playstation's unveiling.

‘Haunting Melissa’ app to spook you on your smartphone

If Sadako of the Japanese film Ringu fame were brought into your mobile devices, this might be what this new app is going to look like. Haunting Melissa, an iOS app from Hooked Media and co-executive producer of the US version of The Ring and The Ring 2, is going to deliver a ghost story to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in a new way in hopes of keeping up with how technology has altered the way stories or movies are consumed today.

It’s like you’re watching a TV show on iTunes with the film broken into segments of varying length. The app can be downloaded for free and you can opt to purchase per episode (no word yet on the amount of episodes) or get a season pass at $6.99 for SD and $14.99 for HD. You’ll then get to find out what happened to Melissa and her mysterious disapperance after warning her friends about the ghostly presence in the isolated farmhouse where she lived.
