Review: Fitbit Charge 5 for fitness and mindfulness on the go

I've been housebound with a dog who's recovering from leg surgery and know that it will be a few months before I can head back to any sort of "normal" routine. I knew that sleep, exercise, stress levels, and eating would be out of whack for a couple of months. (I’ve been through this before earlier this year). It so happened that the latest Fitbit Charge 5 had recently launched here in Canada and it would be an ideal time to check it out and see if it could help give me incentive to get back on track. Fitbit, LifeScan partnership will offer Inspire 2 trackers for diabetes management

Source: Fitbit

Fitbit recently announced a multi-year partnership with LifeScan to help its diabetic users manage their health better. It's an extension of an announcement earlier this year where the LifeScan OneTouch Reveal app syncs results with the Fitbit app. In case you didn't know, LifeScan offers services and hardware for those with diabetes to help them manage their disease.

The two companies want to help their users by offering Inspire 2 trackers and access to Fitbit Premium to LifeScan users. It allows these users to manage their activity, workouts, nutrition, and stress. This partnership will be available in the US in the fall.

Fitbit shifts to USB-C for the Luxe's charging cable

9to5Google

It looks like Fitbit is finally shifting to using USB-C for its charging cables, at least when it comes to its new lifestyle tracker, the Luxe9to5Google shares images of the Luxe's charging cable, and it shows a USB-C connector with a button used for the reset process if the tracker is unresponsive.

The Google-owned company doesn't refer to the charging cable on its product page, but you can see its difference from other Fitbit charging cables. It doesn't have that distinct cutout associated with the USB-A standard. We don't know if this charging cable will be a standard for the company moving forward, but we hope it will be.

Fitbit launches new Ace 3 activity and sleep tracker for kids

Now that Winter is transitioning into Spring and COVID19 stay at home orders are beginning to ease up across the country, we can hopefully convince our kids (and ourselves) to keep moving and get outside. Fitbit today announced Fitbit Ace 3, the brand’s next generation activity and sleep tracker that makes it fun and easy for kids ages 6+ to get active and build healthy habits with the entire family. Expanding on the features kids love most about the Ace family of trackers, Ace 3 introduces more animated clock faces and new accessories to motivate kids and show off their personal style. With up to 8 days of battery life in a swimproof design, Ace 3 can keep up all week long. Yes, now we're talking!
