First impression: Samsung Galaxy S6

The overall result of the design, engineering and UI overhaul makes the Samsung Galaxy S6 feel like a more mature and elegant smartphone and one worthy of taking its place among today's most desireable flagship handsets.

Another year, another Samsung Galaxy S flagship, right? While other smartphone manufacturers are getting slammed for new models that resemble last year's models too much and are too iterative, Samsung has amped up their whole design and materials language and the result is a welcome and refreshing change to an already impressive flagship smartphone.

HTC One (M9) arriving in Canada on Bell, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, and Videotron early spring

The HTC One (M9) flagship smartphone is coming to Canada early Spring and is a lock for carriers like  Bell, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, and Videotron. Pricing hasn't been revealed but it should be along the lines of most flagship devices available on two-year contracts.

he HTC One M9 will be available with a range of unique and customizable accessories including the second generation HTC Dot View case, which adds more retro personalization thanks to a host of new features and colour options.

Am updated version of the HTC Dot View can handle alerts from Instagram, Snapchat and Badoo with through-the-case notifications.

A new IP68 water resistant Active Case and Active Headset is also coming for the new HTC One.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung is really focusing on what this tiny sliver of slanted screen can offer. They do include various apps and app add-ons that can make use of the Edge display. This is an innovative feature that's still too new and too insular to be considered as anything more than a gimmick. 

Faced by declining sales of its flagship Galaxy S5 as well as mounting competition from Apple, Samsung is trying very hard to innovate in the smartphone space by leveraging its mastery of displays. The answer is the Galaxy Note Edge, which takes the Note 4’s best features, and adds a unique curved edge screen which tapers to the right-hand side of the phone.

Rogers making tablet ownership more affordable with Easy Pay

Tablets are increasingly becoming more expensive, but Rogers is allowing subscribers to own tablets via their Easy Pay scheme.

Easy Pay lets customers finance the cost of a tablet over 24 months. Customers choose a new tablet, connect it to a Share Everything plan, and make easy, low payments over 24 months. Rogers is sweetening the deal by offering Next Issue magazine subscriptions free for 2 years as long as they keep the tablet on their plan (excluding QC) and they can live stream over 1,000 games on  Rogers GameCentre LIVE and watch their favourite shows and movies with shomi. Available devices include the iPad mini with Retina Display, the Google Nexus 9 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
