Samsung at IFA: Note 4 and Note Edge angle for the premium phablet market

Samsung is currently unveiling the new Galaxy Note 4 as well as an entirely new Note Edge with a partly angled screen which reveals various controls and options depending on which app is being used. The launch event at IFA in Berlin clearly shows that Samsung is making an upmarket move. Not only is the new Note 4 a more premium device overall than most Samsung handsets in the past, Samsung's associated itself with some premium fashion brands for accessories. Mont Blanc and Swarovski were some of the premium companies said to be partnering with Samsung to create accessories for the new devices. Stay tuned for more developments out of IFA. Samsung unveils a blinged-out, Swarovski-clad Gear S

A fan of all things shiny and sparkly? Well, Samsung has unveiled a Swarvoski-clad strap for its new Gear S smartwatch. The two companies have an ongoing partnership to produce blinged-out versions of various Samsung devices. What’s new about the Gear S strap is that it features Swarovski’s new product dubbed “Crystal Fine Mesh.” It lets them embed the crystals directly into the metal mesh to create a more pliable band. It’s the first time this material has been used on a gadget. It will be available at Samsung’s online store starting next month but they haven’t given a price yet.

Samsung gets first dibs of Nokia’s Here on Android

Nokia’s map application Here was initially promised to arrive on Android but it never arrived. Samsung has partnered with Nokia to bring a beta version of the app for Android exclusively for them. The app will be made available for Samsung devices when they unveil the Gear S smartwatch. It will offer turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation to the new wearable and will be able to sync routes with compatible handsets using Here.

Samsung tipped to develop its own circular smartwatch

Looks like LG isn’t the only one following Motorola’s lead. According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is planning on releasing its own take on the circular design for its smartwatches on an upcoming wearable device. There are hardly any details at the moment and it isn’t known if the device will run on Tizen or Android Wear. We are expected to see this new gadget a few months after the Galaxy Note 4 is released. We will keep you posted on any updates about this possible smartwatch.
