Tesla quietly cancels its 'no questions asked' 7-day return policy

Tesla has always been a bit of an outlier in the automotive industry. It also strives to be a trendsetter. One of the more ballsy moves it pulled was offering a "no questions asked" seven-day return policy, which its CEO Elon Musk has been pushing to remind its customers that it's confident in its product. It was even written on the support page for the policy: "This return policy is intended to give you confidence in your purchase of a Tesla vehicle, and so is in addition to any other rights you may have under applicable law." Buyers could get a full refund if there's no damage to the vehicle and if it had less than 1,000 miles on the odometer.

Tesla Autopilot can detect speed limit signs

A new software update coming to the Tesla Autopilot feature will allow the cars to recognize speed limit signs with its cameras and act accordingly. With this new feature, your Tesla car should stick to the limit. Simultaneously, the update also brings a new feature where a chime can be heard when the traffic light turns green while you're at an intersection. If there's a car ahead of you, the chime will wait for that vehicle to move before it chimes. The update is rolling out now, but you might have to wait a bit before it reaches your electric car.

Tesla's app will be getting two-factor authentication soon

For apps like Tesla's, two-factor authentication is a vital security feature, especially since it lets you control the car remotely. But it's something that's been missing all this time. Elon Musk, Tesla's chief, said last year that two-factor would be coming to its app, but he didn't say when. But now, he's giving us a clue that it's coming soon. Musk admits that it's "embarrassingly late," but it is going through final validation.

The process for Tesla's app will use SMS- or app-based authentication. While the latter is more secure, the SMS option is available for those who can't use authenticator apps

Tesla recalls some 2016 Model Xs in Canada over steering troubles

Tesla recalls some Model X vehicles from 2016 because of a steering problem. According to Transport Canada, that the "bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear may corrode and break" on some vehicles, and this can result in loss of power steering assist.

The automaker is offering free repairs for the SUVs, and it will replace the mounting bolts. And if broken bolts are found or these break during removal or can't be removed, Tesla will install a new steering gear. The company has notified affected drivers in writing, but you can also check through this webpage if your car is part of the recall.
